Plymouth's girls bowling team
registered an impressive 24-6 victory over Novi in a KLAA match-up held
Feb. 11 in Westland.
The winning Wildcats received several strong performances, the
most notable coming from Kristyn Sturtz, who rolled a two-game series
of 324. Amanda Martin also shined, tossing 161 and 160 games. Mackenzie
Carlson overcame a round 113 game in game one to post a sizzling 214 in
the nightcap.
Novi was led by Callie Wright's 281 and Britney Affholfer's 278
series.
Plymouth was staked to a 6-4 lead after the Baker games before
out-pinning the other Wildcats in the regular matches.
The Novi boys teamed avenged the girls loss to Plymouth by
seizing a 24.5-5.5 victory over the Wildcats. Novi led 6-4 after the
Baker games and never looked back.
Andrew Fraser was on fire early for Plymouth, throwing a 200
game in match one. Fraser's teammates couldn't quite match him, though,
as Justin Thompson (177), Rob Korstjens (151) and Kyle Webb (172)
bowled well, but couldn't knock down enough pins to hang with Novi.
The green Wildcats were paced by Andrew Thorwall, tossed games
of 214 and 178. Nick Kuczajda also excelled with 180 and 173 results.
SALEM FALLS
TO JOHN GLENN

boys team dropped a closer-than-the-score-would-indicate 18.5-11.5
decision Feb. 11 at the Westland Bowl. Salem led 6-4 once the Baker
games were concluded, however the Rockets were able to rally by edging
the Rocks in both regular matches: 999-974 and 898-896.
Ryan Clark was Salem's main man, turning in efforts of 225 and
239. Also throwing well for the Rocks were Shaun Schmidt (234-145),
David Nikkila (179-192) and Kyle Newcomb (179-180).
Derrick Ammons led John Glenn with games of 223 and 183. Tommy
Ruark also bowled well, carding scores of 201 and 192.
Salem's girls team lost a heart-breaker to the Rockets, 16-14,
despite some solid performances from Rachel Amodio (320 series), Ashley
Kretschmer (302) and Kristin Larkins) contributed to the Rocks' efforts
as well.
Alysson Kassab paced the winners with a 341 series.
CANTON SPLITS
WITH ZEBRAS
The Chiefs' boys team rolled to a 21-9 triumph over Wayne
Memorial thanks in large part to a 446 series by Ross Terrasi. Andrew
Klein also shined, knocking over 406 pins in two games. Trevor Cummins
(227-154) and Billy Keppen (148-181) also deserve some props for their
efforts.
Wayne was led by Jeremy Brown's 225-219 performance.
Canton's girls were handed a 28-2 setback by the Zebras. A pair
of Chiefs -- Ashley Cade (165-166) and Jackie Polaski (137-142) --
bowled well in the losing cause.

of 234 and 154.
