The scoreboard operator assigned to work Wednesday night's Canton-Saline girls soccer match could have stayed home and watched "American Idol."

  His or her services weren't needed as the Chiefs and Hornets battled to a scoreless draw in an early-season contest played at Saline.

  The draw left the Chiefs with a 1-0-1 mark heading into next week's Spring Break.

  Sam McPartlin shut the door on the Hornets the first half while Kayla Bridges blanked the hosts during the final 40 minutes.
