Chiefs advance to Elite 8 for 2nd straight year thanks to 1-0 win over River Rats

  Bobby Budlong's first-half goal and stellar defensive play from the back four and senior goal-keeper Brandon Laabs lifted Canton's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Ann Arbor Huron in a Division 1 Regional semifinal game played Tuesday night at Dearborn Edsel Ford High School.

  The Chiefs (19-3-2) advanced to Saturday's Regional final against Novi, which blanked Ypsilanti Lincoln, 2-0, in Tuesday's other semifinal game.

  Canton knocked off Novi, 5-1, in the Kensington Conference championship game played earlier this month in Novi.
