Canton's hockey team improved to 5-0 Friday night by doubling up Livonia Churchill, 4-2, in a KLAA South Division game played at the Arctic Edge.

The Chiefs are now 3-0 in the division.

Canton won despite getting out shot by nearly a 2-to-1 margin.

Senior AJ Rosales got the puck rolling for the winners, scoring the first period's lone goal from Jimmy LaFontaine and Matt Rodgers.

After Chuchill battled back to knot the game at 1-1, Rosales struck again with an unassisted, shorthanded lamp lighter in the second period.

Senior German exchange student Matt Prasdorf scored his first goal on U.S. ice a short time later to extend Canton's lead to 3-1. Prasdorf was assisted by Matt Cox and LaFontaine.

After Churchill drew to within a goal in the third, Parker Pakula found the back of the net for an insurance marker to cap the scoring. Duggan Tear and Josh Dickson assisted.

Spencer Craig earned the win in net, stopping 26 shots.
