Canton's hockey team has been the hottest thing on ice during the first two weeks of the season.

The Chiefs improved to 4-0 Wednesday night with a 4-3 victory over Woodhaven in a game played at the Arctic Edge Ice Arena in Canton.

The Chiefs, who outshot their visitors 41-20, jumped out to a 1-0 first-period lead when Brandon Grillo scored from Matt Ceci and Duggan Tear.

Following a Woodhaven goal, Canton senior Phil Baciak scored off helpers from Grillo and Taylor Baker to make it 2-1 after one.

Canton led 3-1 after two periods when Shawn May scored his first goal of the season thanks to feeds from Zach Cox and Jon Rizzo.

The eventual game-winning goal in the third period came off the blade of Garrett Bryden, who was assisted by Jordan Smith.

Spencer Craig earned the victory between the pipes for the winners.
