Right on cue, Canton's two seniors played instrumental roles in
the Chiefs' Senior Night victory over Livonia Franklin Thursday night.
In the final home match of their prep volleyball careers, Tori
den Boer (team-high nine blocks) and Laura Fcasni (six digs) sparkled
in
their team's 25-18, 25-19, 25-13 victory.
"Tori and Laura both shined the entire night," said Canton coach
Mary Kryska. "It seemed like Tori got a block on every crucial play
tonight. Both Laura and Tori served very aggressively and consistently
tonight. They played with a lot of heart and passion for the game."
The sweeping triumph improved Canton's record to 20-6-2 overall
and 7-1 in the KLAA South Division.
In addition to the seniors' big nights, other standouts included
Alaina Turner, who recorded eight kills (with no errors) and eight
digs; Kristen Muir, who notched six kills and 16 digs; Maggie Deloy
(four kills); Erica den Boer (13 digs), Lauren Martin (eight assists,
three aces, four digs); and Jackie Waite, who distributed 10 assists.
