The Rockets never got off the launching pad in Tuesday's KLAA South Division opener against Canton.

The Chiefs' talented triumverant of Miles Felton, Mitch Clinton and Bradon Conley crossed the finish line 1-2-3, respectively, to lead Canton to a decisive 19-42 triumph over Westland John Glenn.

Felton covered the challenging Cass Benton course in 18:05, 12 seconds ahead of Clinton. Teammate Bradon Conley took third in 18:20.

Jason Suarez ran a strong race for the Rockets, placing fourth in 18:34, six seconds ahead of fifth-place Ruben Maya.

Canton's Andrew Stephens (18:47) and Zach Cox (19:09) took sixth and seventh, respectively.

Rounding out Glenn's varsity roster were Mike Dalton (10th in 20:21), Ryan Boes (11th in 21:06) and Keven Wacker, who placed 12th in 21:14.

Tom Walkinshaw, Kurt Kowalski, Alex Krul and Keegan Sullivan ran well for Canton, but did not figure in the scoring.
