May 11, 2010, 1:05 p.m.

The Canton Cardinals 10U travel baseball team was in full flight this past weekend at the Northville Early Bird tournament.

The Cardinals went 4-0 against the area's top-notch competition on the way to winning the Early Bird title.

On Saturday, the Cardinals muzzled the Clarkston River Dawgs, 10-0, behind a strong outing from Evan Good. In Saturday's nightcap, the Cards corralled the Northville Mustangs, 14-12, thanks to a strong effort from MVP Ben Kandah.

In Sunday's Mother's Day semifinal game, the Cardinals gave their mothers something to smile about, white-washing the Brighton Bulldogs Orange, 10-0, thanks to an MVP-caliber performance from Billy Flohr.

The Cardinals then stampeded the Northville Broncos, 9-4, in the title game Sunday afternoon.
