Canton's wrestling team breezed to a two-match sweep of Linden
and Swartz Creek Wednesday night at Swartz Creek.
The Chiefs swamped Linden, 48-18, before manhandling Swartz
Creek, 57-9.
"Our guys wrestled pretty well tonight overall," said Canton
coach Cory Mancuso. "We lost a few individual matches because of a lack
of experience, but I was happy with the effort our team showed tonight
on the road after a long bus ride.
"Our heavyweight, Julius Maddox, had a big night for us with two
pins. I am really happy with how he is wrestling. It is a total
night-and-day turnaround for him from last year to this year."
