Plymouth's girls basketball
team put the wraps on a successful summer with an intra-squad scrimmage
- just not the kind you might expect.
The Wildcats divided into two teams and played a spirited
kickball game, which was as the Zboomafooms defeated the Pink Kitty
Kats, 4-1.
When asked for her team's recipe for success, captain Taylor
Birman said, "Our team's high spirit and sheer kicking talent."
The Kitty Kats opened the scoring in the fourth inning when Kate
Watson ripped a home run.
The winners answered in the bottom of the fourth with four runs.
"The reason we lost was that we left too many runners in scoring
position and our strategy of bunting didn't work out," said Watson.
Coach Alan Krunk served as the all-time pitcher.
The Pink Kitty Kats consisted of: junior Kate Watson (captain),
sophomore Haley Swanson, freshman Megan Wieloch, sophomore Cassidy
Hewitt, sophomore Ali Holmquist, freshman Taylor Bickers, freshman
Carly Bickers and manager Vincent Bickers.
The Zaboomafooms' roster was made up of: senior Taylor Birman
(captain), senior Alex Roberts, freshman Brooke Senkbiel, sophomore
Ashley Parson, junior Irene Poole, freshman Jada Woody, junior Grace
Stover and junior Alex Richards.
