Chiefs stroke to cross-campus win

  Canton's boys swim-and-dive team recorded an impressive road victory Thursday night...sort of.

   The Chiefs, who were listed as the visitors on the schedule, defeated cross-campus rival Plymouth, 106.5-79.5,  in the comforts of their own pool.

   Canton earned first-place points in 10 of the 12 events to outduel a strong effort from the Wildcats.

  Kyle Kemp and Jay Jin were two-time individual winners for the Chiefs. Kemp touched first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.65) and 500 freestyle (5:06.61) while Jin earned first-place points in the 200 individual medley and the 100 backstroke.

  Other individual winners for the victors were Patrick Jenner (50 free), Ryan Kilgore (1-meter diving) and Victor Zhang (100 butterfly).

  Plymouth's individual winners were Alex Jouney, who won the 100 freestyle; and Tim Castle, who won the 100 breaststroke.

  The Chiefs won all three relay races.

50 freestyle: 1. Patrick Jenner (C), 23.38; 2. Evan Champine (C), 24.30; 3. Chris Wilson (P), 24.30.

1-meter diving: 1. Ryan Kilgore (C), 187.20; 2. Ian Smith (P), 172.15; 3. Wayne Roberts (C), 151.15.

100 butterfly: 1. Victor Zhang (C), 53.98; 2. Ethan Christenson (P), 57.43; 3. Brandon Tolinski (C), 1:00.25.
