Clinic's goal: Help make youth
hoop coaches more effective

  A youth basketball coaching clinic will be held Monday, Oct. 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Pioneer Middle School for all youth basketball coaches who coach players in third through eighth grades.

  The clinic, which is being organized by Westland John Glenn head basketball coach Dan Young, will focus on team and individual fundamentals and practice planning; motion offense versus man-to-man and zone; and how to build your team's defense.

  Representatives from all three Plymouth-Canton Educational Park high school coaching staffs will be speaking at the coaches clinic.

  The clinic is free of charge.
