The Concordia University baseball team, along with U.S. Baseball
Academy, will be hosting a one-day fielding/base-running camp on March
21.
The three-hour camp will be offered to players who are in first
through 12th grades and cost $50 per player.
The national baseball training program will be operated by site
director Karl Kling, the head coach of the Concordia University
baseball team.
Infield instruction will include stance, positioning, footwork,
anticipation and reaction; soft hands, backhands, double plays, bunt
coverage, cutoff-relays, rundowns, bag coverage, game situations and
more.
Outfield instruction will include fielding ground balls and fly
balls; throwing to bases, positioning, footwork, anticipation and
reaction; communication and game situations.
Base-running instruction will include improving quickness and
speed with proper running technique, getting out of the box, leadoffs,
reading the pitcher, rounding bases, sliding and game situations.
