It's time to shine the spotlight on the
PCEP's top spring sports performances

Thanks for stopping by the inaugural PlymouthCantonSports.com "Spring 2010 Eddie Awards", the show that aims to shine some well-deserved positive light on the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park athletes who went above and beyond the past three months.

I tried to book the Fox Theater, but it was so expensive

ed

my family and I wouldn't have been able to eat for six months, so The Cyberspace Auditorium will have to do. (On the bright side, look how much money you saved on tux rental).

Although this is a commercial-free awards show, please take the time to patronize the businesses you see on these pages. They make it all possible.

In terms of success, this past spring was unprecedented at the Park. Four teams - Plymouth's girls soccer team (lost in final game), Canton's baseball team (lost in quarterfinals), Plymouth's boys golf team (finished eighth in state) and Canton's girls soccer team (lost in quarterfinals) - while Plymouth's softball team lost in a Regional final game to the team that barely lost in the state championship game.

Several individuals also turned in All-State efforts in track and field.

Thanks to all the spine-chilling moments that have unfolded on PCEP venues this spring - and since the site launched in September - PlymouthCantonSports.com has surpassed 700,000 hits, a remarkable milestone for a local sports website.

While the local paper turns to a regional format this summer to allow for employee vacations, PlymouthCantonSports.com will remain 100 percent local as I can't afford to take a vacation. Please visit every day for fresh, updated material.

  On to the awards.
