Force to be
reckoned with

Local hoop team excels in Brighton

Jan. 12, 2010, 2:30 p.m.

The Plymouth Canton Force fourth-grade basketball team coached by Jim Knittel and Dave Lukomski dribbled and shot its way to a 3-1 record in MXP's New Year Tournament held at Brighton High School on Saturday, Jan. 9.

Highlights included the Force's come-from-behind 1-point victory against Brighton. Ryan Birney's two clutch free throws with no time left on the clock were the difference.

Chase Meredith's bank shot with 5 seconds left powered the Force to another come-from-behind 1-point triumph over Saline.

The Force is Plymouth Canton's only boys travel basketball club consisting of teams from second to seventh grade. If you would like more information about the Force or would like to be added to the mailing list, please e-mail Dan Krafft at DanKrafft@hotmail.com.
