Plymouth girls track team loses to John
Glenn by narrowest of margins

If you need a visual describing how close Tuesday's
Plymouth-Westland John Glenn girls track-and-field meet was, hold your
index finger and your thumb about two inches apart.
It was that close.
The Rockets earned a 70-67 victory over the Wildcats in a meet
that was decided by a stride or a rotation of a discus.
"The girls really put it out there today," said Plymouth head
coach Ricky Styes. "I told them on the bus that we lost by two inches
on a throw or .02 in a running event. It was the difference between
finishing second or third in a race."
The Wildcats were hundredths of a second away from breaking a
few school records, too, Styes added. Becka Knox barely missed setting
the mark in the 400 dash, the 400-meter relay foursome of Madi Lewis,
Lamese Saati, Carissa Buttermore and Knox came within a shoe lace of
breaking the record in their event while Rachel Hille was so close to
the 800-meter run mark she could taste it.
The 2-2 Wildcats will close their dual-meet season next Tuesday
when they host Livonia Franklin.
