Mets pull off amazing comeback
to win 14U West Division crown

July 6, 2010, 7:05 p.m.

Following a sometimes-humbling season of hard work, learning to become a team and perseverance, the 14U Mets hit their stride heading into the GCYBSA playoffs last month.

The Mets upended the Rockies, 8-3, and the Brewers, 7-1, to advance to the championship game against the unbeaten Angels.

Trailing 8-4 heading into the sixth inning, the Amazin' Mets rallied to win, 10-9, to take home the West Division crown.

"It was a total-team win with everyone contributing either offensively and/or defensively to our victory," said coach Tom Upshur. "Thanks to Slider, Thrill, Domi, Alex, Bones, Matt, Foosball, Frampton, Big Jake, Drew, Turtle and Tiger for making it happen."
