Plymouth Christian baseball team prevails over Calvary Christian, 6-2

The Plymouth Christian Academy baseball team upended visiting Calvary Chrsitian, 6-2, Thursday to improve its record to 3-2 overall and 3-1 in the Michigan Independent Athletic Conference's Red Division.

Starting pitcher Ethan Walker tossed 5.2 solid innings, limiting CC to one run in the first inning while striking out nine.

Matt Dodson relieved Walker with two outs in the sixth, striking out two and yielding one harmless seventh-inning run.

The defensive play of the game unfolded in the seventh when PCA left-fielder JR Hope made a diving catch in shallow left with the bases loaded to put the cap on a potential CC rally.

Offensively, Dodson led the way with two hits, including a double. Matt Hagelin (double), Josh Johnston, Daniel Slater, Jon Slater and Matt Read all had one hit for the Eagles.
