Christian Academy honored its seniors prior to Tuesday's game against
Southfield Christian.
And, boy, did the seniors ever live up to the honor.
Sparked by the play of three upperclassmen, the Eagles
white-washed SC, 5-0,to improve to 7-8-1 heading into Thursday
afternoon's home tilt against Parkway Christian.
On Saturday, the Eagles also ousted Southfield, but by a
much-closer 2-1 margin.
Don Mullett led the winners' goal barrage with a hat trick
in addition to an assist.
Seniors
Jordan Machonga (one goal, two assists) and Blair Robinson (one goal,
two assists) accounted for the rest of the scoring.
After building a 3-0 halftime lead, all 23 Eagles saw playing
time in the second half, including the team's nine seniors: Machonga,
Mullett, Robinson, David Baum, Nate Howard, Ethan Walker, Jordan Allen,
Chad Ibach and Matt Zandee.
Allen recorded his second shutout of the season between the
pipes.
"It was a great team win and one that we can could enjoy on this
special seniors' day," said coach Larry Machonga.
