Christian Academy freshman mid-fielder Dan Ross tallied a pair of goals
-- both assisted by senior forward Jordan Machonga -- but it wasn't
enough for the Eagles who dropped a 4-2 decision to University of
Liggett Tuesday afternoon at PCA.
"Overall, the game went very well, but I was a little
disappointed with a few of the breakdowns we had on defense," said PCA
coach Larry Machonga.
Liggett scored on its first offensive shot, however, Ross
deadlocked the game at 1-all a short time later.
"Dan found the back of the net with a beautiful low shot that
had great precision," recounted Machonga.
Liggett seized a 2-1 advantage after converting a penalty kick
that resulted from a questionable call from the center referee.
Ross struck again at 2-2, but Liggett hammered home the
game-winner with approximately 16 minutes to play.
Liggett's fourth goal came with 30 seconds left on a counter
offensive following a deep PCA throw-in.
