Plymouth's
girls golf team is compiling quite a record collection this season.
On Monday, the Wildcats fired a school-record 18-hole total of
374, which was good enough for fifth place at the Davison Invitational
at Davison Country Club.
Freshman sensation Kelsey Murphy led the 'Cats with a
six-over-par 78. Also scoring for Plymouth were Sarah Thompson (96),
Maggie Furlong (98), Chloe Marentic (102) and Mandy Kirsch (111).
Flint Powers won the tournament with a 339. Murphy and
Thompson's scores were the two lowest by freshmen in the entire field.
On Wednesday at the Woodlands of Van Buren Golf Coutre, the
Wildcats improved their dual-meet record to 7-1 with a 188-203 victory
over Westland John Glenn.
Murphy set a school record for a nine-hole round when she carded
a 34. Also scoring for the 'Cats were Sarah Thompson (48), LeAnn
O'Shaugnessy (50) and Christy Pattison (56).
Lindsey Dean shot a 60 for the Wildcats, but did not figure in
the scoring.
Heidi
Irvine played well for the Rockets, turning in a team-low 40.
