Bolstered by an aggressive
defensive effort and solid production from a trio of juniors,
Plymouth's boys basketball team edged Westland John Glenn, 37-35,
Tuesday night in a clash of KLAA South teams.
The victory improved Plymouth to 8-7 overall and 5-4 in the
division. The Rockets slipped to 4-11 and 3-6, respectively.
"We outlasted them," said Plymouth coach Mike Soukup. "We did
not play well. We needed every play we made to squeeze out a victory."
The Wildcats were led by Mike Nadratowski, who poured in 13
points. Pat Salo added 10 and Brennen Beyer contributed eight.
Beyer led all rebounders with six while Salo hauled down four
boards.
Marcus Mecks paced the Rockets with 13 points.
Plymouth led 7-4 after one quarter, 19-17 at the half and 27-26
with eight minutes left.
The Wildcats struggled from the free throw line, sinking just
six of 12 attempts. John Glenn swished eight of 10 shots from the
charity stripe.
