Plymouth's baseball team
split a KLAA South Division with Westland John Glenn Wednesday
afternoon, winning the opener, 6-1, before falling in the nightcap, 4-0.
The split left the Wildcats with a 9-9 mark overall and 4-7 in
the KLAA Kensington Conference.
Junior southpaw Mike Nadratowski was stellar in the
opener, limiting the Rockets to just four hits over six innings.
He struck out four batters.
"This was Mike's best game of the year," said Plymouth coach
Bryan Boyd. "It was nice to see Mike get a win. We've struggled to
support him offensively this year."
Offensively, the Wildcats were led by Rich Guglielmi, who ripped
two hits with an RBI. Matt Priebe drove in two runs.
The Wildcats managed just four hits in the nightcap. Ben Wohl,
Phil Emminger, Nadratowski and Jake Beauchamp had one each. Andy Dodge
suffered the loss on the mound to fall to 2-2.
"Unfortunately, we just didn't hit," said Boyd. "We just
couldn't muster enough offense. Defensively, we played pretty well."
