
Plymouth's
lacrosse team broke into the victory column for the first time this
spring Wednesday when it upended Grand Blanc in a non-conference clash.
Senior attack men Ryan Renault and and Pat Smiatacz paced the
Wildcats' offensive explosion. Renault tallied two goals and four
assists while Smiatacz notched three goals and two helpers.
Also scoring goals for the winners were Phil Flesch (three),
Brad Finch and Kenny Fanelli, who carded his first career net-finder.
Mike Olevnik excelled in the mid-field for Plymouth, picking up
11 ground balls while winning 64 percent of his face-offs.
Also excelling were Evan Swieckowski (seven ground balls),
Connor Downey, Ben Burkman (seven ground balls, six take-aways), Alex
Miller (six ground balls, three take-aways), Ethan Christensen (three
ground balls), Blake Blaylock, Ethan Weiner and Charlie Miller.
Mike Justus was superb in front of the net, stopping 12 of 17
Grand Blanc shots.
