Somebody was going to record their first varsity basketball victory Friday night: Ann Arbor Skyline or first-year Plymouth head coach Bob deBear.

Isis Haywood made sure it was deBear.

Haywood scored a season-high 16 points to lead Plymouth to a resounding 54-26 victory over Skyline, the three-year-old school that was competing in its first-ever varsity game.

The Wildcats left little doubt early on about what the outcome was going to be as they exploded to a 15-1 first-quarter lead. The winners led 26-12 at the half and 40-15 with eight minutes to play.

Plymouth's scoring ledger was very balanced. Kate Watson and Kylie Robb both contributed eight points; Taylor Birman added six; Alex Roberts and Jada Woody twined five; and Alyssa Burris chipped in with four.
