Wildcats wallop John Glenn, 6-0

It's a good thing for Westland John Glenn's boys soccer team that Plymouth's Yoder twins aren't triplets, otherwise Tuesday night's match may have been even more lop-sided than it was.

Andrew Yoder (two goals) and Mitchell Yoder (one goal) tallied a brother hat-trick in the first half of the Wildcats' 6-0 romp over the overmatched Rockets.

The victory improved Plymouth's record to 10-3-3 overall and 7-2 in the KLAA South Division. Plymouth is one-half game behind Canton in the division standings.

"John Glenn was strong the first 10 or 15 minutes of the game, but we broke them down," said Plymouth Coach Jeff Neschich.

Nick Russ scored the winners' fourth goal a short time before halftime.

Derek Austin recorded two first-half assists. Mitchell Yoder and Russ's goals were unassisted.

The most spectacular goal of the night belonged to senior Joe Klonowski, who one-timed a perfect shot into the upper-90 of the goal 18 seconds into the second half.

"It was probably our best goal of the season so far," Neschich raved. "It was an awesome shot."

Russ found the net for the second time on the night to close the scoring.

Kyle Brindza and Rene Mejia shared the shutout for the Wildcats.
