Plymouth golfers clinch KLAA South title after sweeping rival Chiefs

  Ryan Rieckhoff's school record-tying nine-hole round of 32 led Plymouth's boys golf team to a 143-161 victory over Canton Wednesday afternoon in a match played at Fox Hills Golf Course.

  With the win, the Wildcats clinched the KLAA South Division title.

  In addition to Rieckhoff, scoring for Plymouth were Josh Heinze (35), Justin Bauer (37) and James Bryans (39). Kyle Rodes (39) and Ryan Bauer (41) also played well for the Wildcats.

  Canton was led by Zach Conrad, who carded a solid 37. Brendan Muir (38), Josh Maxam (44) and Kyle Korte (44) also scored for the Chiefs. Travis Hall (44) and Frank Parzynski (46) played well for Canton but did not figure in the scoring.

  On Tuesday, the same two teams met at Hilltop Golf Course with similar results. Plymouth won, 151-164, thanks to Bryans' low round of 35. Also scoring for the 'Cats were Heinze (38), Ryan Bauer (39) and Rieckhoff, who fired a 39. Justin Bauer shot a 41 and Trevor Birdwell a 47 in non-scoring rounds.

  Muir led the Chiefs with a 40 followed by 41's from Conrad and Hall. Parzynski also scored with a 42. Korte shot a 43 for Canton while Josh Maxam recorded a 44.
