Plymouth's girls golf team's defense of its KLAA South
Division title got off on the right foot this week as the Wildcats
registered a pair of impressive victories.
On Monday at Whispering Willows, the 'Cats edged host Livonia
Churchill, 181-182, thanks to some stellar play from sophomores Kelsey
Murphy and Sarah Thompson. Murphy carded a sizzling 40 while Thompson
was right behind her at 41. Mandy Kirsch and Lindsay Dean also scored
with rounds of 50. Christy Pattison and Danielle Allen both played well
for the Wildcats.
Jordyn Shepler fired a 37 for Churchill.
On Tuesday at Gateway, the Wildcats cruised past Wayne Memorial,
174-308 behind Murphy's 39. Thompson was brilliant again, recording a
40. Lindsay Dean (46) and Pattison (49) scored for Plymouth. Allen shot
a 53 while Ashley Pwzcuk came in with a 61.
The Wildcats will put their 2-0 record on the line Wednesday at
Fox Hills when they host Westland John Glenn.
