Riversharks double up Titans, 4-2

May 23, 2010, 11:25 p.m.

The 10U Motor City Riversharks won their second straight league game Thursday night with a hard-fought 4-2 win over the Livonia Titans.

The Titans, who entered the game with a 3-1 league record, grabbed a quick 1-0 lead in the first inning. Riversharks starting pitcher Brendan Lacorato stopped the first-inning threat by picking a Titan runner off second base.

The Sharks answered  with a three-run rally in the bottom of the first frame on hits by Chase Every, Jeremy Armstead and Joe Watson.

The game then settled into a pitchers' duel with each team only scoring one run over the final five innings. Kyle Winfrey relieved Lacorato in the fourth and picked up the save with three innings of one-run relief.
