Salem lacrosse team doubles up Dexter in season opener, 12-6

  Fueled by three goals a piece from Steve Haburne, Garrett Berg and Connor Berlin, Salem's lacrosse team throttled Dexter, 12-6, Wednesday night in the season opener for both teams.

  Dylan Hatcher registered a pair of goals for the winners and Nick Gianini added one.

  Notching assists for the Rocks were Hatcher (two), Berg (two), Haburne, Gianini and Ryan Blakey.

  Blake led the Rocks with nine ground balls. Berg picked up six ground balls and Berlin secured five. Anthony Portelli and Jon Homrich both recorded four ground balls.

  Alex Gravlin was solid between the pipes for Salem as he made 10 saves.

  The Dreadnaughts outshot the Rocks, 30-27.
