
South Lyon East's cross country team was done in by Salem's
"Fantastic Four".
The Rocks quartet of Andy Rabe, Steve McEvilly, Mike Karizat and
Jimmy Daniels placed first through fourth, respectively, to lead Salem
to an 18-38 victory over the Cougars.
Rabe won with a time of 17:57, just two seconds ahead of
McEvilly. Karizat was clocked in 18:15 while Daniels cross the line in
18:29.
South Lyon East's top runner was fifth-place Alex Kuligowski,
who covered the 3.1-mile course in 18:38.
Also scoring for Salem was sophomore Jeremy Drouillard, who
placed eighth in 19:06.
"Our performances of the day were by Jeremy, who stepped up to
be our fifth runner, and sophomore Evan Stevenson, who took 40 seconds
off his previous best time," said Salem co-coach Steve Aspinall.
The Rocks return to action Tuesday when they take on Northville
at Cass Benton.
