Steelers freshmen squad advances while
varsity and junior varsity fall in round one

The Plymouth-Canton Steelers freshmen football team improved to 9-0 Sunday with an emphatic 40-12 victory over Farmington in the opening round of the Western Suburban Junior Football League playoffs.

The offense was led by Scott Gregor and Ben Kandah, who opened huge holes for the running backs. Isaac Emminger had several nice carries, including two rushing TD's. Rashawn Allen also ran well, scoring a touchdown as well.

Kyle Burnett had an outstanding day on both sides of the ball, playing quarterback and linebacker, while Mason Phillips joined in by running the ball hard and hitting even harder from his linebacker position.

The win advances the Steelers into round two of the WSJFL playoffs Sunday against the Dearborn Heights Redskins. The game will kick off at the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park varsity stadium at noon.

VARSITY FALLS TO ROCHESTER
An outstanding season for the Steelers' varsity squad came to a close Sunday with a 34-19 loss to Rochester. The Steelers fought hard the entire game and displayed a vaunted "No Quit!" attitude.

LIONS EDGE JV CONTINGENT
