
The
Plymouth-Canton Steelers freshmen football team improved to 9-0 Sunday
with an emphatic 40-12 victory over Farmington in the opening round of
the Western Suburban Junior Football League playoffs.
The offense was led by Scott Gregor and Ben Kandah, who opened
huge holes for the running backs. Isaac Emminger had several nice
carries, including two rushing TD's. Rashawn Allen also ran well,
scoring a touchdown as well.
Kyle Burnett had an outstanding day on both sides of the ball,
playing quarterback and linebacker, while Mason Phillips joined in by
running the ball hard and hitting even harder from his linebacker
position.
The win advances the Steelers into round two of the WSJFL
playoffs Sunday against the Dearborn Heights Redskins. The game will
kick off at the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park varsity stadium at
noon.
VARSITY FALLS TO ROCHESTER
An outstanding season for the Steelers' varsity squad came to a
close Sunday with a 34-19 loss to Rochester. The Steelers fought hard
the entire game and displayed a vaunted "No Quit!" attitude.
LIONS EDGE JV CONTINGENT
The junior varsity Steelers dropped a hard-fought 14-6 decision
to the Canton Lions. The boys showed great character and discipline all
season.
