The Plymouth Stingrays '01 travel hockey team won the "Last Dance" tournament held May 14-16 at the Arctic Edge in Canton.

The Stingrays cruised in their first two games, upending Victory Honda, 9-1, before blanking Pittsburg Select, 5-0.

The Stingrays jumped out to a 1-0 lead in their third game against the Tri-County Hounds thanks to a Connor Garcia goal. However, the Hounds earned a draw when they scored with 4:30 to play.

The championship game matched the same two teams. After the Hounds grabbed a 1-0 lead, the Stingrays retaliated with a goal from Joey Mandel. Both teams' defenses and goalies took over from that point on and regulation play ended in a 1-1 draw.

After two overtimes failed to produce a goal,  the teams moved to a shootout. All five Stingrays scored, giving Plymouth the title.

Stingrays goalie Brandon Boyd was named the tournament's MVP after yielding just three goals in four games.
