The Wayne Memorial Wolfpack is lead by Head Coach, Steve Vasiloff, now in his sixth season.  Coach Vasiloff is again assisted by Rich Donahee (5th year) and Robert Freeman (4th year).  Joining the staff this year is CJ Johnson, a former Wayne football player.

Wayne Memorial had another winning record last season, 17-10, and beat
Salem and Grand Blanc in their KLAA cross-over duals.  Numbers remain high and Wayne was at least two deep at most weights.  The Wolfpack, however, did not fare well in the post-season, sending only one wrestler to the Saline Regional.

  Wayne
was, overall, a young team.  Starters lost to graduation were Anwar Oliver (140), Brandon Whittenberg (152), Josh Mills (160, regional qualifier), Dylan Korzetki (215), and Chris Bowie (285).

The Wolfpack should be able to field a team largely composed of juniors and seniors with two years or more of wrestling experience.  Darryl Ison, Devon Adams, Tristan Jarosicwicz, and Dimitrius Renfroe should be key components in helping
Wayne achieve its goals.

Several weight classes appear wide open, but an early read on the varsity line-up is given below:

103 – Tyler Mulligan (Fr) or Tim Way (Fr)

112 – Darryl Ison (Sr) or Pablo Flores (Jr)

119 – Tristan Jarosicwicz (Jr)

125 – Micheil Hood (Jr)

130 – Devon Adams (Jr)

135 – Cody Allen (Jr)

140 – Kyle Szalai (Jr)

145 – Terry McCartney (Sr)

152 – Jalen Jones (Jr)

160 – Kevin Newborn (Jr)

171 – Devin Korzetki (Jr)

189 – Nate Cavanaugh (Sr)

215 – Dimitrius Renfroe (Jr)

285 – Jacob Chiles (So)

The goal for 2010/2011 wrestling season is to continue the program turnaround that began two years ago.  This means having another winning season, improving upon last year’s finish in the KLAA South, and having multiple wrestlers competing in the individual regional and/or state tournaments.
