The Plymouth Whalers return home this weekend, starting today at 7:05
p.m. against the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds (33-24-1-4) at Compuware
Arena.
Before the Whalers and Greyhounds renew their
West Division rivalry for the 149th time dating back to 1990, Plymouth
- in association with the American
Red Cross – is sponsoring a blood drive from noon to 6
p.m. at Compuware Arena.
Anyone who attempts to give blood will receive a free ticket to the game that night against the Soo.
Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins will be accepted. Anyone interested in scheduling an appointment can go to www.plymouthwhalers.com/blooddrive.html. Specific questions can be directed to Natalie Shaver at (734) 453-3216.
Last year, the Whalers collected 61 pints of blood for the American Red Cross and are encouraging fans this season to surpass that mark.
The game will be broadcast on 88.1FM WSDP “The Escape” in Plymouth starting at 6:45pm.
Friday’s game is also a Farmer’s Insurance Group $5 Friday, where seats in sections 105-110 of Compuware Arena are offered for just $5.
On Saturday, Plymouth hosts a rematch with Saginaw at 7:05 p.m. during Fan Appreciation Night at Compuware Arena. Plymouth’s corporate sponsors and the Whalers will contribute in discounts and give-aways in a fun night for Plymouth fans. Attendance is up over 20 percent this season for Plymouth games and Saturday night’s event is a small way for the Whalers to thank fans for their support.
The game will be broadcast on 88.1FM WSDP “The Escape” in Plymouth starting at 6:45 p.m.
