The Plymouth Family YMCA is accepting registrations for its
instructional clinics. The focus of these programs will be on fun,
exercise and social interaction through sports instruction.
Clinics include Preschool
Soccer for kids between the ages of 3 and 5; Preschool Basketball for ages 4 and
5; and Youth Basketball for
ages 6 and 7.
The programs run the weeks of March 17-April 28. All classes are
held in local schools during the week.
For more information, contact the YMCA at (734) 453-2904 or
visit www.ymcadetroit.org.
The Plymouth Family YMCA is also excited to introduce Speed and Agility Training. This
class will focus on improving your speed (stride length and frequency,
starting and stopping ability, sprint form and technique) and agility
(the ability to explosively brake, change direction, and accelerate
again).
Rarely in team sports do you run in a straight line at a fixed
pace for a fixed length of time. This class will improve your movements
in any direction at any sport.
It will also improve your foot speed and will increase your
strength and power using only safe, body-weight exercises. The classes
will consist of both drills to learn new techniques, and various games
for the opportunity to put those skills into practice.
It will be taught by an NCAA Division 1 athlete with a degree in
Exercise Science and who is great with youth. For more information,
contact the YMCA at (734) 453-2904 or visit www.ymcadetroit.org.
The Plymouth Family YMCA is accepting registrations for Spring Co-Ed Soccer and Girls' Volleyball Leagues. Both
leagues run from April 19-June 12. There will be one practice and one
game each week.
The cost is $71 for program members or $103 for community
members. All participants need a YMCA Youth Sports Reversible Jersey
(cost: $15). The registration deadline is April 1.
If you are interested in participating or coaching your child's
team, please contact the YMCA at (734) 453-2904 or visit
