Canton
appeared to strike a momentum-seizing blow early in Thursday night's
critical KLAA South Division clash at Livonia Churchill.
However, with the game scoreless, Matt Edwards' goal was
disallowed due to an apparent hand ball, and the rest of the night went
the Chargers' way.
Churchill won, 4-0, to improve to 4-0 in the South, one game
ahead of Canton, which dropped to 6-3-2 overall.
"We played a good brand of soccer most of the game," said Canton
coach George Tomasso. "We couldn't get any breaks. I was proud of the
way the boys played hard throughout the entire game."
The Chiefs were on the short end of an 18-4 differential in
fouls.
The Chargers led 3-0 at the break.
The two teams will meet again in the final regular-season game
in early October.
