With Malcolm
in the middle, Plymouth Christian Academy's opponents are in for a
rough night.
Led by middle blocker Kristin Malcolm, the Eagles soared to a
25-14, 25-13, 25-16 victory over Livonia Clarenceville Tuesday night.
The triumph lifted the Eagles to 7-1-1 overall.
PCA played with a lot of momentum after winning Saturday's Huron
Valley Lutheran Tournament.
Malcolm registered a team-high 16 kills while also compiling 10
digs. Folake Olojo also had a productive night in the front row,
recording 13 kills.
"I was impressed with our ability to control the pace of the
match," said PCA coach Kelly Blackney. "Our goal was to make them play
to us and I think we accomplished that."
Sophomore co-captain Amy Zinn and Abby Bartes both dug out 10
balls while junior Brianna Harris did a great job of running the
Eagles' offense as she dished out 28 assists.
The Eagles ousted Michigan Independent Athletic Conference rival
Lutheran Westland in the final of Saturday's tournament.
"I like the direction this team is headed," said Blackney.
"We're beating teams that we lost to last year."
