Plymouth Christian earns dramatic win over state-ranked team in D4

The coaches who voted the Plymouth Christian Academy boys soccer team into the honorable mention ranks in the Division 4 rankings last week obviously knew what they were talking about.
In the second game of Saturday's Liggett Invitational tournament, PCA knocked off No. 2-ranked Hudsonville Freedom-Baptist, 2-1, thanks to two second-half goals from Jordan Machonga.
Machonga's first goal followed a direct kick by Dan Ross that his the post before meeting Machonga's left foot, which buried it into the back of the net to know the game at 1-all.
Machonga delivered the game-winner  with 15 minutes to play when he split the defenders and blasted a strike past the opponents' charging keeper.
PCA dropped the opening game of the tournament 6-1 after falling behind 3-0 at the half.
The Eagles will tangle with Ann Arbor Greenhills on Tuesday at Greenhills. The Griffins are the No. 1-ranked team in Division 4.
  PCA is now 3-2-1.
